Dementia Doula Training

Learn to Guide the Dementia Journey

Understanding Begins Here

Dementia changes far more than memory. It affects relationships, communication, daily life, decision-making, identity, and the way individuals and families navigate an ever-changing path.

The Quiet Path Dementia Doula Training prepares you with the knowledge, practical skills, and person-centered approach to support individuals and families throughout the dementia journey — and to bring greater understanding of dementia to others.

For those who feel called to make a broader difference, this training also provides a foundation for sharing dementia education within their communities. Whether connecting with families, community organizations, or professionals, participants can help build greater awareness, encourage meaningful conversations, and foster more compassionate approaches to dementia care.

Compassion starts with understanding. Understanding changes how we care.

A Different Kind of Dementia Training

Dementia education often begins with understanding the disease. Dementia doula work asks us to go further—to understand the person living with it, the people who love them, and the changing needs that emerge throughout the journey.

The Quiet Path Dementia Doula Training brings knowledge into practice. You’ll learn not only about dementia and how it affects the brain, but how to recognize changing needs, communicate more effectively, support decision-making, work alongside families and care partners, and help people navigate what comes next.

The training follows the dementia journey from the early questions and diagnosis through progression, changing care needs, advanced dementia, and end of life. Along the way, you’ll develop practical tools for assessment, planning, education, advocacy, and person-centered support.

You’ll also explore how to put your training to work. For those who want to build a dementia doula practice, the program includes the practical business foundations for developing and offering your services. You’ll also learn how education can become part of your work—giving you tools to create presentations and bring meaningful dementia education to families, organizations, churches, professional groups, and the broader community.

This isn’t simply about knowing more about dementia. It’s about knowing how to use that knowledge to walk alongside someone well—and to bring that understanding into the communities you serve.

What You'll Learn Along the Path

The Quiet Path Dementia Doula Training brings together an understanding of dementia, person-centered approaches, practical guidance, and compassionate communication. You'll develop the knowledge and confidence to support individuals and families as their needs evolve, navigate challenges and transitions, and honor the dignity and humanity of everyone involved. For those interested in extending their impact, the training also provides a foundation for community education and developing dementia doula services.

How The Training Works

The Quiet Path Dementia Doula Training is designed to allow you to move through the program at your own pace while providing opportunities for connection, discussion, and practical application along the way.

The training combines self-paced online learning with opportunities to apply what you are learning to real-world situations. Lessons build progressively, helping you move from understanding dementia and its impact to developing the skills and confidence to guide, educate, plan, and respond thoughtfully throughout the dementia journey.

Throughout the program, you’ll work with practical scenarios, tools, and exercises designed to help you translate knowledge into practice. You’ll also develop elements of your own dementia doula approach, explore how you may want to use your training, and begin creating the foundation for services, education, or community presentations that reflect the work you want to do.

The program also includes three individual Zoom sessions with Debbi, providing dedicated time for questions, discussion, real-life situations, and applying what you’re learning to the work you want to do.

You are not simply working toward completing a course. You are building the knowledge, tools, and practical foundation to step into dementia doula work with confidence and purpose.

Completing the Path

The goal of The Quiet Path Dementia Doula Training is not simply to move through lessons, but to demonstrate that you can thoughtfully apply what you have learned.

Throughout the program, you’ll complete practical exercises and activities designed to help you put the concepts, tools, and approaches into practice. You’ll also complete an end-of-training knowledge assessment to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply the foundational principles of dementia doula work.

Successful completion of the program requirements prepares you to move forward with the knowledge, practical tools, and person-centered approach developed throughout the training.

Certification & Completion

Upon successful completion of The Quiet Path Dementia Doula Training and its certification requirements, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and earn certification as a Certified Dementia Doula through The Quiet Path.

Your certification reflects completion of The Quiet Path curriculum and your demonstrated understanding of the person-centered knowledge, practical skills, and approach taught throughout the program.
